Diagnostic & Surgical Technology

Precision instruments guide every step.

From the first measurement of your eye to the final lens placement, every stage uses dedicated instrumentation rather than a one-size approach.

PHACO SYSTEM

Alcon Centurion

Fluidics-controlled phacoemulsification for a gentler, more stable cataract removal with reduced surgical time.

VISUALISATION

Zeiss Operating Microscope

High-resolution, stereoscopic magnification giving Dr. Singh a clear, well-lit view for micro-precise lens work.

BIOMETRY

German Optical Biometer

Non-contact measurement of your eye’s exact dimensions, used to calculate the correct power of your new lens.

CORNEAL MAPPING

Pentacam Topography

Detailed corneal mapping to screen for astigmatism and irregularities before recommending a lens type.

Lens Options

Choose the intraocular lens that matches your life.

During your biometry and corneal mapping, Dr. Singh will discuss which lens category best suits your eyes, your astigmatism (if any), and how you use your vision day to day.

Standard

Monofocal IOL

Sharp vision at one distance, usually far. Reading glasses typically still needed.

Astigmatism

Toric IOL

Corrects corneal astigmatism alongside the cataract, reducing dependence on glasses for distance.

Premium

EDOF IOL

Extended depth of focus for a continuous range of vision — strong for distance and intermediate tasks like driving or screens.

Premium

Trifocal IOL

Near, intermediate and distance vision in one lens — for patients wanting the least reliance on glasses overall.

Frequently Asked

Common questions about cataract surgery.

Is cataract surgery painful?

No. The procedure is performed under numbing eye drops or a local anaesthetic, so patients typically feel pressure rather than pain. Most people describe mild grittiness for a day or two afterward.

How long does recovery take?

Most patients notice clearer vision within 24–48 hours and resume normal activities within a week, though full stabilisation can take a few weeks depending on the eye and lens type chosen.

What's the difference between EDOF and Trifocal IOLs?

An EDOF lens gives a smooth, extended range of focus best suited to distance and intermediate vision, such as driving or computer work. A Trifocal lens adds a dedicated near point, so it typically reduces the need for reading glasses as well.

Do I need a Toric IOL?

Only if corneal topography shows meaningful astigmatism. Dr. Singh will confirm this using the Pentacam mapping done during your consultation before recommending a Toric option.

Can both eyes be treated in the same visit?

Cataract surgery is usually performed on one eye at a time, with the second eye scheduled a short interval later once the first eye is healing well.
